Welcome to my Travel Channel. The place where I bring you the best travel news. Today I will take you on a journey to discover the spring signs in Brussels. April to the end of May is the perfect time to enjoy cherry blossoms, tulips, daffodils, bluebells, and many other flowers in the capital city of Belgium and around. This time of the year is perfect for exploring new places and spending time in nature. The spring in Brussels is gorgeous, and these are the places that you need to visit.

Groot – Bijgaarden Castle

This magnificent place is located in the village of Groot – Bijgaarden in Dilbeek, a suburb of Brussels. You can take the train from Brussels Central Station for the best travel day. It’s quick and easy. As I went on a Sunday, I got a roundtrip weekend pass for only 5 EUR. I think it’s an excellent price. Once you arrive, you need to walk 15 min to reach the castle. I advise you to book your ticket in advance from their website to avoid the queue at the entrance. The ticket costs 16 EUR/per person for a whole day. Upon arrival, I was told I could visit again with the same ticket because the tulips were not fully bloomed yet. That’s so nice and considerate of them. Remember to visit between 1 April and 4 May when the place is open. Maybe they slightly change the date every year, so bookmark their website to check on the latest updates. The area is quite extensive, with many different floral arrangements. Despite the crowds, I took many great pictures from different angles and spent a total of 3hours strolling.

Hallerbos Forest

Located one hour outside Brussels, with the car taking 40 min, this forest is a splendor. To get there by public transport is very easy. I took the train from Brussels Central Station to Halle for 30 min. Once there, bus 155 will drop you right where the forest is in just 20 min. The train ticket was 5.50 EUR for a weekend pass roundtrip, which is much cheaper than a standard ticket. And the bus ticket from Halle, which you can get from the bus, was 2.50 EUR. The bus was full of tourists, and the entrance to the forest was buzzing with people and cars. Nevertheless, you can easily park as many parking areas and entry points exist.

Since this incredible forest has so many wildflowers and wildlife, it receives many annual visitors. The bluebells are the star of the show toward the end of April and the beginning of May. The sea of blue and the sweet enriching smell of the bluebells is enchanting. Pick a sunny and warm day to go for a better experience. The day that I went was 18°C/32°F and sunny. I arrived at 13:00 and left the forest at 19:00. Bring food and liquids to picnic in the woods and enjoy the many sitting areas created just for that. Oh, and you can bring your fur friends too. It’s a perfect place to make more friends and exercise.

One remarkable thing the municipality will create is a green bridge over the highway that separates the forest. This will be a safe way for animals to pass from one side to the other, and it will be finalized by 2025. Compared to other forests this one is a maze, and the good thing is that you can bring your bike to the forest. Horseriding is also permitted on some of the paths, but not all. It is indicated which routes to use for horseriding—enough talking. Enjoy the beauty.

Cherry blossoms in Brussels

I was on a mission to find cherry blossoms in Brussels and successfully discovered these gorgeous streets covered in pink. It’s a joy walking them, and I can’t stop but admire the beauty of these intricate cherry flowers. But, of course, it would be best if you came to walk with your boyfriend, girlfriend, partner, husband, or wife on one of the streets. It could be the perfect romantic date.

  • Avenue Emile Max

Located at the square Eugene Plasky along with Avenue du Diamant, I found this street to be the best in terms of fullness and perfect coverage. Moreover, the roads mentioned below are also worth discovering.
